Reception - RG

Our story this week has been 'The Snail and the Whale' by Julia Donaldson. We wrote some amazing sentences about the story. We also painted a whale and made a snail out of air dry putty. They looked amazing! Erikas coloured in a beautiful picture of a whale. We practiced 'taking away' sums using the children on the bus.    We also shared jelly beans between the teddy bears making sure we shared them equally! This afternoon we went on a bear hunt in Forest School.   It was lots of fun but 'We're not going on a bear hunt again!'

This week we have been reading and writing about the story  'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by  Michael Rosen. We love the story and we had fun acting it out at Forest School. We also made a Bear Hunt collage using lots of different materials. They looked amazing! We have been learning all about doubles. We know our doubles to 10 very well. Just ask us! It rained all day today so we decided to put on some wellies and splash in the puddles!  It was lots of fun!

We have been very busy since we came back to school. We made paper aeroplanes and flew them outside to see which ones flew the furthest.  It was lots of fun. We read the story ' Rainbow Fish' and wrote words and sentences about the story.  We remembered capital letters, fingers spaces and full stops! Mrs Grelak was very impressed! This week we read the story Noah's Ark.  Jaxon and Erikas worked together to complete the giant animal puzzle. Well done! We made Noah's ark with all the animals and a beautiful rainbow. We each  made a boat out of tin foil then floated them in water.  We estimated how many marbles would fit in our boats before they sank.  Erikas had the strongest boat as he managed to fit 131 marbles in it before it sank!
