Reception - RG

This week in PSHE we talked about places that are special to us. Lots of children chose their bedroom as their special place.  Their task was to design and make a special place for Poppy the puppy. They came up with lots of design ideas and made some amazing special rooms and places for Poppy.   Our story we have been writing about this week is 'Noah's Ark' and in Maths we were learning about estimating.   Our task was to design a boat out of tin foil and estimate how many marbles would fit inside before it sank.  Some boats held over 100 marbles before they sank! On Thursday we had our trip to Cotswold Farm Park. We had an amazing time learning about the different animals and feeding the greedy goats! At Forest we were writing our name with materials, including charcoal, which was lots of fun. We used 2 sticks as drum sticks and made different beats and rhythms with them. We had to listen very carefully to each rhythm and copy it. 

This week we have been writing the story of 'The Rainbow Fish'.  We practiced writing sentences on our whiteboards then we made a book.  We sequenced the pictures first then we wrote a sentence about each picture. We made under the sea collage pictures and made a beautiful display of all our work.  On Friday we went to Forest School.  We had so much fun exploring the Forest School area and we found lots of treasure.   We used the treasure we found to make pictures on the ground.
