Reception - RG

Today we have been learning about what is special about me and other people in my class. We took it in turns to look  inside a box with someone special inside. Once everyone had a turn we shared who the special person was. Everyone said - ' It was ME! ' There was a mirror in the box and the children were looking at their reflection. We then talked about what makes us special and unique. Everyone  shared what they like to do and who is special to them. Marvellous Me! Every week 2 children will take home and Marvellous Me bag and fill it with 5 special things to share with the rest of the class. Mrs Koleva showed everyone her special things in her Marvellous Me bag.

As part of our topic on 'Houses and Homes' we have been reading the story 'The Three Little Pigs'. We made our own Three Little Pig books by sticking the pictures in the correct order.  Next week we are going to write the words for the story into our books. We made houses for the pigs out of lego and duplo.  They were very strong! We have been building in our 'Building Site' role play area. We made and painted the three houses for the pigs. Next week we will paint the pigs and the big bad wolf.

Today was our Christmas Party and we really enjoyed watching the puppet show Pinocchio. We did Christmas colouring and cutting activities in the classroom. Then we went into the hall for our Christmas Party and Father Christmas came to visit us! We were very excited! We danced and then played pass the parcel which was lots of fun.

We have been very busy performing our Nativity this year. We have given 5 performances altogether and it has been lots of fun. This week we  performed our Nativity at Homesmith House and Yates Court.  All the ladies and gentlemen said how much they enjoyed our performance. After our performance we came back to school and had a wonderful Christmas lunch with crackers!
