This week we have been reading and writing about the Story 'Monkey Puzzle' by Julia Donldson. In Big Writing we have been writing sentences about an animal from the story. We have been trying very hard to remember finger spaces between words and a full stop at the end of each sentence. We are very proud of our work. Today Captain Tom Moore would have been 101 years old and to celebrate his achievements during lockdown last year and all the money he raised for the NHS, each year group has done a Maths Challenge. In Reception we had to see how many steps we could walk in 100 seconds.  We took small steps and giant steps and noticed that we could do more steps when they were small. We had lots of fun doing this on the field.

We have had a lovely first week back after the Easter holidays. We have been practising counting objects using the 10 frame.  We had lots of fun counting the fruit and vegetables from our snack table!   We also played a game building towers with unifix cubes. The first one to build a tower with 20 cubes was the winner.  In PE we were practising different types of rolls. Our favourite was the pencil roll.
