This Week in RG

This week in Maths we have been learning about capacity and the language full, empty, half full, nearly full and nearly empty.  We were amazing wizards making magic potions!   In English we were learning the sounds ow, er and ure.  The alien loved eating all the alien words we read!   In outdoor learning we went into Forest School for the first time.  We enjoyed investigating and we made some homes for the animals. In PE we were learning how to do a forward roll. It was tricky but we kept persevering and Mr Thompson was very impressed with our forward rolls.

Chinese New Year

We had lots of fun celebrating Chinese New Year.   We made red paper lanterns and money wallets. We even wrote Happy New Year in Chinese on the envelopes! We took turns to find China on our globe of the world. In the afternoon we went into the hall for a Chinese New Year Party.  We did some ribbon dancing to traditional Chinese music, then we tasted some Chinese noodles, sweet and sour vegetables and prawn crackers.   We were very excited when the Chinese Dragon arrived to do his Dragon Dance!

In Art and DT we painted the three little pigs and made the houses for them.  We also enjoyed acting out the story in our role play area. In Science we did our very first experiment to see which materials would be waterproof and which ones weren't. In PE we were learning how to do a forward roll. Mr Thompson was v
