This Week in RG

In Phonics this week we were learning the sounds ow, oi, ear and air.

We enjoyed making crowns and we loved the real and alien word game as the alien monster was very greedy!

Our topic this half term is Houses and Homes and this week we went outside and made some homes for the animals. We worked very well together to build a strong home for our animals.

 We also went on a winter walk to see what we could see and hear outside.  It was sunny but very cold and frosty outside.

In Art and DT we painted the three little pigs and made the houses for them.  We also enjoyed acting out the story in our role play area.

In Science we did our very first experiment to see which materials would be waterproof and which ones weren't. We made predictions about which ones we thought would be waterproof before we poured water over the top of them.  It was lots of fun seeing which teddies would get wet and which ones would stay dry.

In PE we were learning how to do a forward roll. Mr Thompson was very impressed with how well we did! Matei was Mr Thompson's Sports Star in Reception this week for his amazing forward rolls.
