This Week in RG

Our topic this half term is all about 'Food' and our book of the week is The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

In outdoor learning we made caterpillars out of natural resources. We made long and short ones as we are learning about longer and shorter in Maths.

We have also been learning about the lifecycle of a butterfly so we  made the egg on the leaf, the cocoon and the butterfly to show the lifecycle of a butterfly.

We tasted different fruits: watermelon, mango, blueberries, strawberries, pinapple and honeydew melon.  We chose our  favourite and our Favourite Fruit Chart showed strawberries are RG's favourite fruit.

We even made caterpillars with apple printing!

In PSHE our topic is 'Healthy Me' and we have  been learning about the importance of exercise and the changes which happen in our bodies when we do.  We had lots of fun trying different exercises for 1 minute then resting for 1 minute.

In phoniics we have been revising all the sounds we have learned so far and we enjoyed going on a picture hunt in the atrium to find lots of pictures with the 'igh' sound.  Mrs Grelak was very impressed with how well we segmented the sounds to spell each word.
