Monkey Puzzle


Our Book of the Week is 'Monkey Puzzle' by Julia Donaldson







Little monkey wrote us a letter telling us he had lost his Mum and could we help him to find her.
We had to solve lots of sums using bananas and we went on a number hunt for Mum in the atrium.















 We went on a hunt in the atrium solving lots of number problems and they led us to Mum! We were so happy to find her!









We also played the  'Frogs in the Pond' game which was lots of fun.
We had to throw 5 frogs into the hoop and record how many landed in the hoop and how many landed outside. This really helped us to learn the number bonds to 5.

We really enjoyed our first Sport's Day! We did lots of races including the sack, running, bean bag and hurdles.  Mr Thompson was very proud of us all.   We had lots of fun at Forest School searching for bugs. We even found a slow worm! We really enjoyed the balancing ropes and everyone was able to walk across without falling off.

Trip to the Farm Park

We fed the very greedy goats! Their tongues tickled our hands which we found very funny! We climbed up to the top of the viewing tower so we could see the whole farm park. We could see for miles too.   After lunch  we played a game where we had to sort the animals into those who lay eggs and those who don't.  We were very good at this. We went exploring in the discovery barn where we stroked a rabbit and saw lots of different animals. We also stroked the sheep who were very friendly! At the end of the day we went back onto the bus and travelled back to school.  We had an amazing day!
